Position: Consultancy – HelpAge Network Platform

Contract: Consultancy (6–9 months estimated)
Compensation: Up to £35,000

HelpAge International works on older persons' rights and dignity, connecting 200+ organizations across 99 countries through their global network focused on strengthening connectivity, collaboration, learning, and knowledge exchange.
Position Overview
Lead the complete lifecycle of platform development from scoping through rollout for HelpAge's network platform. The platform will connect member organizations and enable collaboration across the global network. The consultant will ensure the final product is functional, secure, user-centered, and scalable.
Project Phases
Phase 1: Scoping & Design
- Conduct technical landscape review
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement workshops
- Perform user needs analysis
- Map integration requirements (Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Teams, Mailchimp)
- Benchmark against peer networks
- Assess GDPR compliance requirements
- Develop comprehensive architecture blueprint
Phase 2: Development & Rollout
- Build platform with Single Sign-On functionality
- Implement system integrations
- Create knowledge hub
- Conduct user acceptance testing
- Develop training materials and documentation
- Support pilot testing
- Provide deployment support
- Deliver complete handover package
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in digital platform scoping and architecture
- Proven experience with community/membership platforms for INGOs
- Technical expertise with Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, APIs, and SSO
- Experience designing for multilingual and low-bandwidth environments
Technical Skills:
- Platform architecture and development
- System integrations and APIs
- Single Sign-On implementation
- GDPR and data privacy compliance
- User-centered design principles
Additional Requirements:
- Remote facilitation skills
- Readiness to travel if required
- Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience in nonprofit/international development sector
Compensation Structure
Total: Up to £35,000
Payment Schedule:
- 30% upon Phase 1 completion
- 40% upon Phase 2 core development milestones
- 30% upon final delivery
